On Thursday the 28th of May 2009, the Nicholson Hotel was the venue for the 5th AGM and end of sailing season presentation dinner
Twenty Six members and partners had a very enjoyable meal followed by lots of laughter at our meeting
Bob Moore presented his report and reflected on the 2008/9 season and stood down from his position after 2 years as commodore

Model Sailing Club holds fourth AGM
Nicholson Model sailing club held its fourth AGM on June fourth at the Bairnsdale Club
Twenty-four members had a very enjoyable meal interrupted only by the usual bouts of laughter and merriment usually associated with this family orientated model sailing club
The dinner was followed by the AGM held in the upstairs meeting room.where Commodore Bob Moore welcomed new members Ian and Jenni Staniforth of Eastwood to the club
More laughter followed when Mal McLeod of Metung was awarded the annual “Snorkel award” for being The only club member to have his yacht sink. Malcolm was presented with a bottle with a string on it to tie to his boat, so if it sinks again it will be easy to locate
The annual memorial “Starkey Cup” was presented to Lyn Kanther of Metung. Ray Mackay of Lakes Entrance sailing his yacht “Flying Nunn” won the Club handicap championship for 07/08
A well deserving Tony Muston of Eagle point won the “Most Improved Sailor” trophy
Bob Moore of Newlands Arm was re elected as Commodore for the 2008/9 season and a new committee consisting of Graham Veal, Jim Robinson,Anne Bedford, Ray Mackay and Tony Muston were elected to guide this great club of model yachting enthusiasts for the next sailing season

On Thursday the eighth of June 2006, the Bairnsdale Club was the venue for the first AGM and end of sailing
season presentation dinner for the Nicholson Model Sailing Club. Twenty six members and partners had
a very enjoyable evening which included quite a bit of laughter
Since the new club was incorporated in 2005 the club has grown to over twenty members with eighteen yachts on the club register.
Five new one point five class yachts are under construction for next season and with the amount of interest being shown the club expects quite a few new members for next season which will start at the end of September
A new committee was elected with Jim Robinson of Paynesville being elected as Commodore for the 2006 / 7 season
A presentation was held with two beautiful leadlight Yacht trophies being donated by Prouds Jewellers of Bairnsdale
The opening day "Starkey Cup" was won by Bob Moore of Newlands Arm sailing a one point five class yacht named "Bullant" and the very closely fought ten race club championship series was won by
Martin Hinchliffe of Bairnsdale sailing his one point five class yacht yacht "Manaroo".
